Government Auctions
Government auctions were a hot topic a few years ago
but most of the TV pitchmen that were talking about them (John Polk,
William J McCorkel, Dave Del Dotto etc.) have cooled their jets a
bit.
What most government auctions are is simple. Your regional government
is selling off items they either don't need, don't want or seized
in a raid. Most of the gurus that are selling the idea of going
to auctions aren't being completely up front.
William J McCorkel is
was of the worst. He would have you believe that these auctions
are
either not advertised or nobody shows up for them because they
don't know about them.I have a simple test to show that John Polk
and William
J McCorkel were not being totally up front or honest.
Get your
local paper out and find the section on auctions. There will usually
be
ads for your next sheriff's auction or city drug seizure sale.
Actually take the day and go to one of these. WON'T YOU BE SURPRISED!
What
will you find? Probably 400 or 500 other people there just
like you.Are their deals to be had? Sure, if you want five year old
computers
or a beautiful 1965 office desk. There are usually some good
boats, cars and trucks but they go for at least close to list. Cars
for
pennies on the dollar just don't happen.
Why did William J McCorkel
advertise the auctions? Because people bought his package.
(Update: Willie was convicted of fraud and is serving a prison term
in
Florida. If you haven't seen his infomercial in a while you now
know why.)
And what about John Polk? He switched from hawking a government auction
system to selling a network marketing opportunity. I guess network marketing
is better to hawk. The truth about government auctions is simple. They
are a great way for people to make money. Well, the people selling systems
about them anyway.
