Don Lapre

Poor old Don Lapre. I have had a lot of reviews about this guy over the last five years. This is probably the first review that I am going to actually go easy on Don because quite a few things have happened to him over the last few years and he doesn’t need another bad review from me.

I had quite a few customers that call me each month saying that they just bought a package from Don Lapre and they were not happy. I told every single one of the same thing: “You didn’t order anything from Don Lapre”.

At this point, most people asked what the deal was and I tell them.

Here is the short version of a very long story:

As most folks know, Don Lapre has been on TV for the last 10 years (or so) selling info products to people featuring 900 numbers, buying and selling and reminder services.
In 1999, Don ran into some financial trouble with his company and had to file bankruptcy. In bankruptcy court, a third party ended up buying Don’s infomercials and info products so they could sell them. Don and this company reached an agreement about what they would sell and what they would not.

Since that agreement (as far as I can tell) Don has been upset about what this company has been doing with his name. Not treating customers properly and still pitching old crap like 900 numbers. Don is currently in litigation with these guys but that can take years.

Update: These days, Don is selling vitamins. He has an affiliate program tied in with it. I can't really say anything about the product he's selling since I haven't tried it but it was weird seeing him on TV again after all this time.
