William J. McCorkel

William J McCorkel is no longer marketing products due to the fact that he was involved in a huge infomercial scam. It involved thousands of innocent people and millions of dollars of unsuspecting clients' money.

What did William J McCorkel really do? That is difficult to say but I can tell you the following:

William J McCorkel sold a government auction system back in early '96 and part of '97. William J promised people that if they bought into his business opportunity they would have a chance to work personally with William J McCorkel and his entire staff.

The problem with this government auction scheme was the fact that William J McCorkel was not working with anybody. He was only taking profits and that was about it. A total scam. Enough people must have complained about William J McCorkel as they moved in and closed his doors.

William J McCorkel (and his wife Chantel) started shredding documents and moving funds offshore. This must have opened the eyes of a few more investigators as the feds shut down his business completely. William J McCorkel and his wife were eventually brought up on charges ranging from fraud to impeding a federal investigation.

William hired OJ Simpson attorney F Lee Bailey to defend him. The government offered him a deal but F Lee said that he could get him off. William and his wife both received 24 years in prison. The minimum for the crimes that they committed.

I agree that William J McCorkel deserved to be punished but 24 years is a long time to get for fraud. With the minimum sentencing requirements that Florida has, William J McCorkel is going to get at least 20 years in a federal prison.

That is the end of William J McCorkel. I hope he can get out a bit earlier and get his life back together.
