College Admission Scams
I have people write me all the time about how they got screwed out of
$750 trying to get their kids into college.
I usually e-mail back to ask if they were mugged or something but most
write back that they went to some sort of expensive seminar and got involved
in a college admissions scam. This is one of the scams that I don't understand.
I understand that people want information about short cuts for getting
their kids into school but $750 for info like this (most college admission
services just give a binder of stuff) seems really pricey.
Most people are going to be better off going to the bookstore and getting
some info for $39.95 than hooking up with some college admissions outfit.
You are going to feel happier about your purchase and about getting tuition.
The information is going to be just as good and saving money (when it
comes to college) is really the goal, isn't it? Millions of dollars are
bilked from consumers every year involving fake college admissions systems.
Don't be the next victim. Boycott all companies offering these seminars.
