Sisterhood
When I talk about the Sisterhood, I am not talking about being a nun,
so if you are Catholic, please don't e-mail me.
The sisterhood is a new breed of bad business opportunity that is making
its way across the US. I call the program a Ponzi scheme because that
is what it is. (See our Ponzi scheme review for more details).
The thing that separates the Sisterhood from most Ponzi schemes is that
the time used to scam people is much shorter. Let me give you an example.
In your average Ponzi scheme, people will solicit funds for up to six
months, or even a year, before they will take the funds they have and
skip town.
The Sisterhood sometimes does this in just a few days. People are asked
to invest $2,000 or $5,000 and told they are going to see a huge return
if they get others to invest as they will see a commission.
A bunch of funds are gathered and then whoever started the Sisterhood
operation will leave town, sometimes in as little as one week. They featured
stories about the Sisterhood on local news shows here in Portland but
that was for one day.
I am sure that the Sisterhood is still making it's way around the US.
Don't get involved. The Sisterhood is a pure scam.
