William J. McCorkel

Mazu first reported on William J McCorkel's activities back in 1998. We had heard (from more than a few customers) that they had felt cheated for the monies that they had spent with Willie J.

William J McCorkel (with his wife Chantel) had an infomercial where William pitched a real estate system. McCorkel encouraged people to not only get involved with his real estate business but he also offered partnerships to people who wanted to pay more money. The partnerships allowed people to find incredible real estate deals that William J McCorkel would finance. He and the students would split the profits.

We are happy to report that William J McCorkel was convicted on counts ranging from fraud to money laundering, to interfering with a federal investigation. All this has allowed the government to seize nearly $10.6 million in cash, real estate and vehicles.

Unfortunately, both William J McCorkel and his wife were convicted and have to serve 24 years in prison (each). While William J McCorkel did cheat and defraud people, 24 years seems like a long time for those crimes. His victims probably don't think so, but I do.

William J McCorkel was also convicted in Florida and will serve at least a 20-year sentence as they have minimum sentencing requirements. John Polk, who is now selling network marketing on TV, used to sell a similar system. He has also been investigated, charged and is going to be serving time for similar crimes involving the same business opportunity. Polk is in jail at this time as well.

Funds were made available for the victims of William J McCorkel but even those have dried up. Watch the SCAM section of our site for more updates. Also check out what we are doing.
